Key Results
MEP masterplanning and infrastructure design for 1 million m² of commercial and industrial buildings within the new King Abdullah Economic City and port.
Development of a site consisting of 1 million m² of industrial buildings including storage and warehouse facilities, light industrial, value added logistics, commercial activities and utility compounds. As part of this development both primary and secondary road networks and their associated infrastructures were required.
This project involved the production of a strategy and implementation plan for a Bonded and Re-Export Zone in the new King Abdullah Economic City and port on the west coast of Saudi Arabia. The MEP design team was led with a particular focus on developing a Medium Voltage (MV) infrastructure solution with the Saudi Electrical Company as early in the design as possible.
The HV & MV electrical infrastructure was designed with N+1 redundancy to provide an 89 MVA supply to the overall site, to service all plots with MV supplies, and essential services infrastructure, supporting generation plant, water treatment, and pumping stations.
